Hey, it's Matt, aka MattyMoe (@mattymoe.ai on Instagram and TikTok).

New name, same Friday email: this is now AI This Week by MattyMoe. This week you get three stories that matter, a 10-minute drill you can run for free, and my verdict on Meta's giant new open model.

This week in AI

Google released Gemini 4 Argon, its new top model. Google announced it on October 13 and calls it its latest frontier model. It's in the Gemini app and AI Mode for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, and in the API for developers. Google says it ranks first on the Vals Index, a benchmark built on finance, coding, legal and tax work.
For your business: the API costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens until November 30. After that it doubles to $4 and $20, so if you plan to build on it, run your tests this month.

Google now keeps one shopping cart for every store. Universal Cart went live in the US on October 15 in AI Mode and the Gemini app. Shoppers save products from different stores in one place, and Google tells them when a price drops or an item comes back in stock. They check out with Google Pay or finish on the store's own site, and the store stays the seller. Google names Nike, Target and Walmart, plus "many Shopify merchants."
For your business: if you sell on Shopify, search for one of your products in AI Mode this week and see whether it can go in the cart. Google hasn't said how stores get included, so a quick search is the fastest way to find out where you stand.

Facebook now lets people tell the algorithm what they want. Meta launched Your algorithm on October 13. Tap the three dots on any post in Feed or Reels, choose Your algorithm, and type the topics you want more of in your own words. Meta says recommendations change in real time, even within the same session. It's rolling out now, and Meta didn't say where first.
For your business: Meta didn't say what this does to reach for Pages and creators. My guess is that posts that state their topic plainly get matched more easily, so say what the post is about in the first line of the caption.

Use it this week: practice your hardest sales call

About 10 minutes, in the ChatGPT app. Voice works on the free plan, with a daily limit.

  1. Open ChatGPT and tap the voice button.

  2. Read this prompt out loud with your details filled in:

❝

You're a [type of customer] thinking about buying [what you sell] for [price]. You like it, but you think it's too expensive and you've been burned before. Push back the way a real customer would and don't give in easily. When I say "stop," tell me the three moments where you almost said no and what I should have said instead.

  1. Talk for about five minutes like it's a real call, then say "stop."

  2. Run it again with the better answers. Same customer, same objection.

Creators can run the same drill for brand deals. Make it a brand manager who thinks your rate is too high.

If you hit the voice limit, type the same prompt and do it in text.

Tool verdict: Meta's Muse Spark Open. Watch it.

Meta released the weights for Muse Spark Open on October 15 (Hugging Face's launch post). It's built mainly for coding agents and it's huge: about 816 billion parameters, about 42 billion active at a time, and up to 1 million tokens of context. It reads text, images, audio and video. Hugging Face calls it "the most capable US open-weights model to date," though the launch post has no benchmark scores to back that up.

I'd watch this one for now. The smallest setup in the launch post is a Mac with 512 GB of memory running a 2-bit build at about 18 tokens per second, and most of us don't own that. It also ships under Meta's own license instead of a standard open-source one, so read the terms before you build a product on it. Once cheaper hosted versions show up, it'll be worth a test.

What I'm building

Most of you found this newsletter the same way. You commented a word under one of my reels, a DM showed up with the link, and you signed up. One reel brought in about 490 of you in two days.

I'm turning that setup into a done-for-you service called Linkless. It's for creators and businesses who want their comments to turn into followers, email subscribers and sales. You post, people comment, and they get what they asked for in their DMs right away. I build and run the whole thing for you.

It isn't open yet. If you want in, reply LINKLESS and tell me what you post about or sell. The first people who reply get the first spots.

Hit reply anytime and tell me what you're building. I read every reply, and your answers decide what I cover next Friday.

Matt

P.S. The free library is still up, including the Claude for Startups and free credits guides.
